Turkey dinner at Flo's V8 Cafe in Radiator Springs, Disney California Adventure

With Kelsey from Runaway in LA

The summer sun came out on a beautiful Tuesday in Southern California for us (me and the fabulous Kelsey from Runaway in LA) to venture off into Disney California Adventure park. Though I am an annual passholder, the experience is different when you wake up early, pay to park in the actual Mickey and Friends lot, and get fastpasses. I felt like a full blown tourist; taking photos and carrying a backpack. I even bought new Mickey ears! I'm not gonna fully admit that we walked around the entirety of the park just for the perfect hats ... but we may have. It was worth it.

Now usually I stay at Disneyland parks for a couple of hours on my regular visits, but for a full blown day from the time the gates of the Magic Kingdom open to the time they kick you out I needed to make sure I was comfortable all day. And oh boy I've been SO excited to show you all my new overalls! Call it fate on the Nordstrom's Half Yearly Sale rack! These babies are super comfortable, if I could I would wear them everyday. Just the perfect amount of distress, pockets, and the legs are a skinny cut. Pure perfection I don't think I'm wearing anything else this summer. And I also won't be using any other type of nail product this summer besides the Sally Hansen Gel Nail Strips. I'm seriously addicted! They look so clean and last for two weeks, it's a miracle. Summer is a miracle. Everything is a miracle.

Enjoy your summer breaks and congratulations to all grads!

In Summer

Dress - TheStyleClub // Shoes - Sam Edelman // Hat - Forever 21 // Rings - Forever 21 // Necklace - Flea Market

What is that? Is it me, really back on the blog? Oh yes. I have two more weeks of school and then back to sweet bliss blogging without having to think about which painting is in the Rococo time period or Romanticism (of course I do know, just FYI). With summer coming quickly I panicked as I really don't have a summer wardrobe yet but, thankfully, I received this bell sleeve, boho floral dress thanks to TheStyleClub! I'm really feeling it, it flows very well and the back of the dress... can we just have a moment for it. It's so beautiful! I'm really into open back dresses and tops for this summer for reasons like: (1) I won't be wearing a backpack to cover my back and (2) keeping cool in the hot weather coming ahead. And yes, I will risk weird tan lines for this, I'm so serious.

So lets talk more about The Style Club! It is a site for shopping, getting inspired, sharing, and talking with other fashion lovers about, well, fashion! You can add friends like me (here) and we can chat about the stylish clothes, shoes, and accessories on the site. (They have a chatting option, how cool is that?) You can add things to your virtual closet like a wish list, post your own outfit pictures, and see other girls' style. Now they are in beta at the moment, but take a look around and shop! Add me as a friend and show me your style on the site, I'd love to see!

Disney Princess Inspired Prom

Prom season is here again! Ahh, I remember my proms (I went to two, lucky me!) They were some of the best times I have had. Cliche, but so true! Anyways, me and my Disney infested mind decided what better way to put out some prom style boards than ones inspired by princesses? You don't need to win Prom Queen to be the most royal person in the room, just feel it!

This would not have been a good Disney princess related post if I did not mention Queen Elsa from the newest movie, Frozen. Seriously, I know you all have 'Let It Go' on repeat and your number one most played song on iTunes. I KNOW IT. So let it go, and shoot for the stars in light blue and sheer fabric! Give your hair that famous side braid with a pretty clip, and simple sparkly shoes! You will rule all of Arendelle, or the ballroom in this case.

You don't be sleeping beauty at this party! Aurora seems like the most simple of the actual princesses. She seems like the girl who can wear a short dress to prom and rock it because of her classic taste. Another blue number, the applique on either side of the dress gives off the royal vibes. It's the little things that matter, like the scalloped edges of the sparkly heels and the tiny bells in the hairband. A simple prom look that will earn you respect and top of the best dressed list without being flashy!

Pocahontas is my girl. Out of all the female figures in the Disney realm, I have always looked up to Pocahontas; a free spirit and beauty inside and out. I took some inspiration from a bohemian look, and found is amazing ruffle dress, with a lot of drape, meaning a lot of freedom for the body! Add a turquoise necklace to match Pocahontas's, color up your nails like her tattoo, and add some simple silver strap heels. But at one point of the night, you'll end up barefoot like she is.

1. HAIR // 2. NECKLACE // 3. DRESS // 4. SHOES
Our little dreamer! Rapunzel seems to signify the most youth out of all the girls and I love that. First off, you won't be much of a Rapunzel without your braided hair and flowers, glammed up with some beaded bobby pins. It's a must! As for the dress, stick with the lighter purples to represent her bright attitude! Add a sunburst symbol in your jewelry to rep your kingdom and strappy jeweled heels to perfect your look!
Liked my Disney inspired boards? Want me to make a look from your favorite princess? Let me know in the comments below!

P.S. I know, I'm horrible and have been off the blogisphere for FOREVER. I just got a job and am adjusting to dealing with that and school work at the moment. I'm really enjoying myself but don't think I didn't forget out The Deathly Fashion! xo

Pop of Pink

Beanie - Cotton On// Crop Sweater - Nordstrom// Pants - Marshalls// Skull Kimono - Sister's Etsy Shop// Backpack - LesportSac// Slip ons - Aldo Shoes

I'm really feeling this hair for beanie-wear. I bought this on a limb at Cotton On during the holidays and couldn't resist the cute pink and heart, I was bound to wear it some day. I thought this was the perfect day with my very dark outfit. I basically put all my favorite things together: my ultra comfy harem pants, skull kimono my sister made me, crop sweater with textured polkas, ALDO slip-ons and my bright pink beanie. This hair is just giving me all sorts of vibes! I swear the day after this, I was in a plaid mini skirt and a high pony-tail. Gotta love the magic of clothing.

Aliens, Miniskirts, Hair

T-Shirt - Brandy Melville// Skirt - Modern Amusement// Belt - Gifted// Shoes - Aldo Shoes// Bag - Michael Kors// Watch - Betsey Johnson// Sunnies - Michael Kors

I did it everyone. I cut my hair. Godric I feel so different, but of course in the best way possible. It was a really easy decision about cutting my hair - one day I just told myself "hey I think I should cut my hair" then bam got it cut within that week. No stress, no second thoughts. I just did it and I love it. Aside from the haircut, my sister decided to get me a Valentine's Day present, which was this lovely simple black pocket t-shirt from Brandy Melville featuring a tiny alien. She thought it was pretty appropriate to buy me since the emoji next to my name on her contacts is the alien one. Such a great staple that just tells a tiny bit about yourself! I know NYFW just ended and boy do I have some catching up to do. First grip of exams are upon us and as always, school comes first. So until then, stay fabulous!

Small Adventures Count Too

Jacket - Courtesy of my dad// Sweatshirt - Target// Denim - Current/Elliot// Watch - Betsey Johnson// Slip Ons - Aldo// Necklace - Love Culture
Oh gosh, I wear variations of this outfit all the time really, but never had a chance to document my everyday uniform. Nothing like making a statement with pink denim, and fortunately they are my most comfortable pair of bottoms I own. I wore this on a quick outing to drop my dog off at the groomers and stroll around Disneyland for an hour or two until he was done (Lucky the grooming place is so close, right?). It was windy and gloomy that day so I put on my trusty multi-washed denim jacket courtesy of my dad (Yes folks, my dad) circa 1985, Madonna and Cyndi Lauper pins included. Surprisingly the jacket fits perfectly so it screams for me to wear it a good portion of the week. I just love it so much. Also, I just purchased this rad black quilted sweatshirt with rad hidden pockets from Target. I've never bought clothing from them before, aside from designer collabs, and I'm pretty happy with it. Just adding another great staple to my wardrobe! Now back to endless hours hitting the books and getting distracted by snapchats and fashion week.

Red Carpet Personas feat. Haute Couture Spring 2014

Back on my runway game and I have been studying the haute couture collections like it's a final for my Philosophy class. What I love about this time of the year is the fact that it's a HUGE red carpet season as well, and then I think, is it fate? Do the award shows schedule around the time between Spring Haute Couture? I mean everything should revolve around fashion though, right?
Thought I might take some of my favorite looks from the haute couture spring 2014 shows that are red carpet worthy (AKA Oscar's worthy, really) and fit them into the categories of the princess, the sexy one, and the risk taker, and I also added in some dresses in there that I just want to know the publics' opinion about. What do you all think?

Always love this category, as out of the three I would put myself in the Princess area (no less from a Disney fanatic). I see that a lot of celebrities love to "experiment" one time or two to wear a huge ball gown and try to remember their glass slipper at the end of the night. The top three selections totally fit the image of this persona but no one is hating. The mix of pinks and purples and draping of the sleeves, from the top left Elie Saab gown is everything of a punk princess, talk about best of both worlds. Aside from the voluminous dresses that define royalty (even though everyone there will be considered that in one way or another), I find that you can still show off your princess look in slim fitting dresses like the ones on the bottom panel. My favorite out of these would be the Oscar de la Renta number on the bottom left that combines a very simple fitting dress with a cape-like style (I think I love capes.)

Oh how I love the standout stars on the red carpet who take it a step further to make an iconic moment for themselves and their stylists. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but I'd love to see someone rock that trench coat dress we got going on from Zuhair Murad; I have faith. Also, let's add another member to cape town (Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren at the Golden Globes, yes?) with this standout piece from Alexis Mabille (bottom right).  But I have to say, my favorite is the bottom middle pick from Giambattista Valli, I'm a sucker for a voluminous rose colored skirt.

It's sometimes hard to draw a line off what is appropriate and also sexy on the red carpet, as the Oscar's is a huge event. I felt like appropriate "sexy"was showing just a little bit of skin on the upper-body. All three were some of my general favorites from the season surprisingly, especially the white Vionnet number, love the extra drape atop the belt.

So what do you all think of my red carpet picks from the Haute Couture shows from Spring? Which were your favs?

Can't wait for the actual day! Who will be tuning in?

Casual Friday

Sweater - Gifted// Denim Chambray - Nordstrom// Jeans - Vigoss// Shoes - ASOS Southwark// Deathly Hallows Necklace - Etsy
Coming home after the sun goes down is a great excuse to have the Teen Vogue "last look" inspired photo shoot you've always wanted. This is exactly what I did after coming home from a long stay at Starbucks to do homework. It was quite fun and weird at the same time since I spend a lot of time in here... so just planned posing with my furniture was an experience. But yes, it's that time again; school has started. This semester I'm only taking one fashion class (the rest being general education classes) which is Introduction to Textiles and I love it already!

I can truly say this is what my study day outfits will look like for a while and since the new semester started I have been gearing towards a more preppy yet still appropriately street wear look. (Does that even make sense?) Maybe not but I felt like that today and these shoes I just got from ASOS is basically an open door to another fashion persona for yours truly. The moment I saw these on Sasha Obama I fell in love and was excited to see them available in black. The background story of this purchase was that I had never ordered shoes from ASOS but they had listed my usual size as sold out and me being me decided to take a risk and order them in a whole size up, telling myself I could just slip some cork inside and it would fit just as good as Cinderella's glass slipper but to my surprise they fit just like that without any odd materials. It was fate. It had to be. I mean, if the shoe fits...

*Taken at a totally different time then the full body pictures, darn early sunsets!*
Sweater - Nordstrom Rack// Dress - Roxy// Shoes - Sperry Top-Sider// Watch - Betsey Johnson// Bag - Michael Kors// Darth Vader Beanie - Disneyland// Necklace - Love Culture
A plus side of living in Southern California is the fact that you have the luxury of going to Disneyland without hassle of a list of road trip snacks, booking a hotel, and packing for weird weather that you would never hear of. I grew up a Disney girl, went on the cruise to the Castaway Key and everything when I was a kid, and I'm still one today. I think that stuff just sticks with you, being raised by Walt Disney. Trust me I'm not complaining either. This particular day at Disneyland I wasn't feeling a ride vibe, so my sister and I watched the Magical Map show, in which I only go for Pocahontas, Tiana, Mulan, Rapunzel, and Flynn Rider singing (Good job at casting, Disney Parks).
And here I go mixing prints again, will I ever stop? Probably not, it's my super power. Typical outfit I'd wear to Disneyland and yes, every outfit will come with the Darth beanie when I enter the original Magic Kingdom (It's a Darth Vader beanie with Mickey ears, come on can it get any cooler?)

2014 - An Open Letter

Happy New Year loves!
So if you have noticed, I have had a hiatus from the blog. I've been living the college life. The life of friendship and family and discovering yourself. Pointblank: I haven't been trying to get any type of social media 'obligation' in the way of a good time the past couple of weeks and I actually enjoyed it. Though I know I have a responsibility to manage this blog, the break was amazing and I feel cleansed. I apologize for the leave, the very sudden leave, but I felt it was good for me to align my passions and priorities. Since the New Year has rung in I feel like this year will be just as better as last year; and that's the way it's supposed to work. Every year gets better, every day gets better, every minute should get better.

(And yes I made this short, simple, and sweet - I'm back.)
